got a few small items from menards over the weekend
Good haul.
Get 'em while you can since we all know what Ideal did to P-R.

funny, the made in US stuff was almost all in the clearance section. The seemingly identical, but now made in china masterforce stuff was front and center

That's kind of an odd choice if you ask me.
At least in my mind it's bad for them if the US made stuff is cleared out.

If it's anything like Ace hardware where the Chinese Craftsman cost the same as the domestic stuff did, the straggling domestic tools were / are a good thing.

If some Chinese Craftsman pliers are $12 and the Chinese Ace pliers are $5 I'd rather choose those, but if theres a domestic Craftsman straggler in the mix I'll gladly pay more for that.

When the new stuff is just a Chinese copy of the old domestic stuff and priced the same , keep it on the shelf because the extra cost will be worth it to somebody once in awhile.

Stopped in at harbor freight can't remember what I really went there for.... anyway

I found these 1/4 deep sets in the clearance section. Of course the 3/8 and 10mm are missing.  :))

Also grabbed a wire stripper and a set of wobble exstentions.

Good prices on the sockets. HF really moves that opened/parts missing boxed stuff out fast and cheap. You won't regret that wobble set. I was skeptical at first, but they have held up very well for many years, and were worth every penny of what I paid.

I guess the propensity of 10mm sockets disappearing starts at the store!   :D

Great finds, and as far as wobble extensions go that is one complete set.

Seems nice and will definitely come in handy, the only thing I don't like is how dust and stuff really sticks to the bottom.

I don't know how it could possibly stick and grip a surface with dust stuck to the bottom, but I'm not likely to really use it that way.

I remember that.

For me this will just be on the bench in the man cave for airgun and fishing reel work.

I'll be waiting to see what rolls out of the new plant in Texas at the end of this year.
Hopefully it's priced where I can afford to give 'em a chance.

If it's more that WRIGHT tool I don't think I could gamble on 'em, I'll have to let others find the potential flaws in the quality first.

A 4pc Hansen socket tray set, 1/4 & 3/8.

Honestly I don't really like them all that much and am probably going to get a few of the Ernst Socket boss instead.
The thing I don't like about these is the round base around each peg that is sized per socket.
Your only option is drive end up and, and only on the peg marked for that size, if you don't have that size in your set you're stuck with an empty space.

I also don't like the weird thing they did for the smallest sizes on the 1/4 tray, if I'm not mistaken about their purpose.

I also received this NOS Easco 3/8 ratchet.

I only paid $10, but True Value apparently clearances them out at some point for $2.99.

They were all the rage 15 or so years ago. I like trays, but ignore the size markings. I just fill ‘em with sockets. Great price on those sets.

I would keep grabbing the wrong one, so I thought about marketing them out or something but it seems pretty annoying that you can't just put them wherever you want.

The Ernst socket boss seems very nice and modular, and even offers holders for ratchets and drive acessories, the stickers you get to mark your sizes seem like a good idea too though not that necessary.

Tekton rebrands them so I'll probably buy the 1/4 pair and 3/8 pare from them, they also rebrand the Ernst wrench racks and plier racks I can get from them.
Shipping is free and I earn reward points I can spend like cash so why not.
