Air Couplers and Plugs

(1/1)

stokester:
I've often wondered why there are different style of 1/4" NPT couplers and plugs from Milton in this case.

When I started working at the Chevy shop I had to change out all my air tool quick disconnect plugs to the Milton "A" style from what I had in my shop.  When I set up the air in my own shop I just bought what they had at Home Depot which I think was essentially the same as the Milton "M" type.  While this was not a big deal as it's easy to change the plugs and I later changed the couplers in my shop I was wondering why they would make such similar-looking types.  Different industries?

DeadNutz:
I bought a QD coupler a long time ago that works with either type of stem.

pep:
Not a bad reason but a logical one. It is so you buy from XYZ simple as that,  Ford, Chevy, Dodge same same .

The shop I'm at now has different couplers then any other shop I worked at before. They provide fittings so I saved all my old ones and use them here at home.

Also make a coupler to plug in at home if I need to use a tool from work, easier then taking out fittings all the time.
