Very interesting craft. I knew a book binder once, but had no idea about the nuances and intricacies of his profession. I do know that he was very well paid for his work at the time -- early 1970's IIRC

I can't even think of a book I would have repaired. But like any restoration be it cars, tractors , motorcycles, furniture etc... There is a market out there I guess. Pretty cool skillz.

The Mrs. grandfather was a bookbinder his whole life. I got possession of his handwritten book of "formulas" and recipes for making his own glue, glazing, and such. Hard to read the decades old script, but fascinating none the less.
