here is my hit the road 1/4 box set. all sk except the matco box, snap-on handle in the top, snap-on spinner/extension in the bottom and williams flex head.  all sae in the top with metric in the bottom and a few sae deeps that don't fit in the top.

Now that's an awesome setup for an all out 1/4" set, seems you've practically got everything but the kitchen sink in there.

That's a nicely organized, I can see why that would be your "go-to" 1/4 set.

I have always wondered why those old 1/4 sets had a couple of 8pt sockets. The only reason that comes to mind is some of the old coils and ignition components had square nuts on them so perhaps it was with that in mind is all I can figure.

I have something, can't for the life of me remember what, that has 1/4 and 5/16 square head set screws on it. These work perfectly on them. I think it is something from Delta.

I like the crisp rectangular cases for how they fit in a tool box, but those New Britain boxes with the rounded corners sure would slip in a pocket much better.
