thanks Don! how many more posts do I have to put up before I don't have to do this whacky "verify" thing? I have a hell of a time trying to read those tiny letters!

we got lots and lots of 1/4" drive sets here... this is a no-brainer... this little Walden set is pretty snazzy....

You have me drooling over some of this stuff. I am knocked out by some of it. Hope you have more to post.

The brand choices were determined by those I already have photos for that I can find.
Here's that RTEC (Randolph Tool Equipment Company) set I mentioned previously. The spinner is wonky - need to find a replacement for it.

I cannot remember exactly why, but I also have these two photos in that folder showing the RTEC sockets lined up next to their New Britain equivalents.
I'm guessing we were probably discussing who was OE for RTEC, as it seems they were not a primary manufacturer. (Another one that Private Lugnutz was digging into as they were a military/government contract supplier during WWII, as I recall.)

While the knurling appears similar, obviously the broaching is completely different.

This is another KAL (US) model 501 1/4" drive set in a blow-mold box. I think I have at least six or eight of these KAL sets now. Note the ratchet is just a wee bit different than the one I posted above.

Late production Thorsen (TTC - "Thorsen Tool Company)(most likely after their move to Dallas) set in a blow-mold box. Ten bucks on a Craigslist ad. Had to drive to Seattle to pick it up. Never used. Go figure.

Another Walden 1/4" drive "Migit" set - earlier production than the one above - "Walden Worcester" - mostly plain steel - not plated. I'm assuming the universal was an add-on.
No idea why I developed such an affinity for Walden - like the KAL/Proamerica, I must have at least a half dozen of these "Migit" sets:

WOW! cycle, super nice sets! I really like the first Stevens Walden set. I think that's about as nice as they get. The Powr-kraft is cool as well.

Cruiser posted his challenger set earlier in the thread and commented about the Penens marked tools found in these. Here's my Challenger set...and sure enough all the pieces are marked as Penens too.

You have excellent taste. Right up there with Cruiser, bmwrd0, d42, CRTDI and a lot of others I haven't mentioned.
