earthquake eq125xt ultra compact 1/2 drive impact wrench
« on: August 21, 2018, 06:50:25 PM »
i picked one of these up last week, i have a project coming up that this will be handy for. it really looks like a quality product and several notches up from the standard harbor freight fare. for what its worth, the packaging is very nice. we will see about the rest.

No hang tag though.

They seem to be highly regarded from what I've heard.
People who confuse etymology and entomology bug me in ways I can’t put into words.

Let us know how she works! Those compact 1/2 impacts are all the rate on the tool trucks.

fit and fish is quite good. specs say 2.4lbs weight and 700 ft lbs breakaway and 550 max . i really like the reverse lever. it is located on the side of the trigger and three speed dial is there as well. made in taiwan,

i also have a klutch compact impact from northern tool. it is pretty small but the difference is quite striking. the earthquake with socket is about the same depth as the klutch without a socket!

notice the anvil is shorter. i think compact/short impact sockets would be slick on here!

the klutch did everything i asked of it but i really don't like the reverse lever. my impact use is often take a fastener off, put one back on, repeatedly. that rear mounted power and direction lever was just not something i could get used to. i either had to use my other hand to switch it or set it down and switch it. some guys may be used to impacts like that but i don't care for it.

i  have used this impact a few times now. i really like it. it  seems to have good power and is extremely light. the reversing switch takes a little to get used to  but it  is sure easy to change direction.

i have not changed any tires with it but i think it will have enough power for all but the most extreme jobs.

the  low profile sockets are on order.  the sockets combined with the  impact will make for a very powerful yet compact and light setup!

It's definitely on par with the Astro Nano versions and I saw a lot of these same HF wrenches at the local indy garage. The young guys also LOVE the HF impact socket sets.

If hf had a low profile socket set I would be all over them. Wouldn't surprise me if they show up there in the near future.
