I'd like some input on which grinder I should restore next, and your reasons for your vote/choice.
I'll let you know next Sunday, April 12, so please let me know before midnight Saturday, April 13.
There's a open poll asking the same question, over there. https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=449237 (https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=449237)
I don't care if you vote here and there, but please vote only once here. ;)
1) Baldor 3/4-HP, m-862RE
2) Craftsman Block grinder, 1-HP, m-257.191600
3) Craftsman Block grinder, 3/4-HP, m-397.19670
4) Milwaukee 1/2-HP, m-4980
5) Milwaukee 1-HP, m-5080
Thanks for looking and voting.
:great:
Sorry, the in-line pictures aren't showing, so I've attached the first 4. The 5th - Milwaukee 1-HP, will be attached below.
-
number 2 because it needs it most. the others look more like they just need a little love and cleaning,
-
#4 or #5 because I've never seen whats inside a Milwaukee bench grinder. they look pretty compact.
-
I've got the bug.
I don't know if I can wait a full week to begin a rebuild.
Milwaukee 1-HP, m-5080 attached below.
-
I vote 5. Thinking i have not seen one before
-
#1 I'd like to see you restore a Baldor, you've already done several Craftsman grinders.
I'd say one of the Milwaukees after the Baldor, then another Craftsman.

:coffee2:
Fixed the no show pictures above, see first post & reply #3.
-
I agree with number 2 needing the most attention. But would be happy to follow along on any of them.
-
Any of them would be ok with me - good luck!!

As of 10:30 EDST, here are the polling results tabulated from this and 2 other sites.
There's still time to vote, if you haven't already.

Vote early and vote often... :lol_hitting:

I'm secretly hoping for a Milwaukee rebuild. I've never done one and they seem like sturdy guys.
Come on, get out the votes! :08:
-
#5, mainly because I haven't seen one before. It is not a brand of bench grinder we have seen in NZ until recently.

It's official. The next Torqueman restore will be the Baldor
1.00-HP 0.75-HP 'Big Red' grinder.
The Block 1.00-HP was 6 votes out of first place, with 14 out of 58 total votes, that is about a 10% difference.
In third place was the Milwaukee 1.00-HP, also big and red, with 12 votes, just about 4% less than 2nd place.
Well the internet has spoken. You want big grinders!!
OK, I hear you, scary as they are, I will begin tomorrow, if not sooner!
Thank you for helping me choose between some very deserving grinders!
Oh yes, Happy Easter! :)

I found old PhotoBucket pictures to an October 2015 thread: '3/4-HP Baldor grinder model 862RE - Now runs' and decided to reactivate it and put back the original pictures (not hosted by PB).
It is on that 'other' site. If you really want, I can post a thread here also, other wise please follow the link.
