Pawnie finds: 10-1-18
« on: October 02, 2018, 10:44:37 AM »
Another handful. A Klein driver missing it's rubber grip, a flexible 1/4" extension (very handy), a pair of metric allen wrenches, a VACO 3/16" T-handle allen, two nail punches, a Craftsman =V= sliding T-handle, and a 3/8" swivel knuckle that I'm planning on using for a project. Canna complain for $5!

If someone needs the =V= sliding T PM me. I don't need it but it was too nice to leave such a piece in a box of junk.

Good haul - as usual. Anxious to see what you do with the U joint half.

Thanks! I just can't seem to stop grabbing these flexible extensions. Don't use them all that often, but durn they sure do help at times!

The V code sliding T handles are awesome.
I've got one in my main 1/4" set that I picked up this summer in great condition and I love it.
It's got a good ball detent that keeps it positively in the center, and the drive end fits my sockets well.
It may not have a notch to keep the head from turning when it's at the end, but I have yet to find that in issue.

I've already got one of course, but I wouldn't mind one in my other 1/4" set.

Good haul - as usual. Anxious to see what you do with the U joint half.

Here's one of the ideas I was considering: an adjustable Saltus wrench.
Whereas I do lose a skosh of thinness I gain the flexibility of changing sizes on the fly. Rather than have to carry another set of wrenches in the truck, I can get Saltus access with 3/8" drive sockets I already have in the tool box. Having a 9/16" open end and the ability to swap out socket ends is an advantage for me.
Does it do anything a flex breaker bar can't do? Probably not.

That's pretty darn cool and something I probably have what's needed to make , but I'm not sure I'd use it.

I'm thinking a 1/2" deep 6 point on the flex end should go well with a 9/16" open. Or maybe mix it up and put a metric socket there.

Hey - I can put whatever size I want!  :P

That's the beauty you can put just about any size you want on there.
