So you think you can machine, weld, engineer, and fabricate -- well this guy will give you a lesson.

Found this link on the GJ -- but this is truly amazing work.

WOW!

I love the guy who was talking about trying to squeeze more power from an SBC before he looked at the forum. Winning!

With that amount of work I’d rather just build my own custom engine.

That's what makes it cool.

Chebby in a Chebbi and a Ford in a Ford.
Is the need enough? Or does the want suffice?

Modding a 12cyl Ferrari engine and making it work is quite a feat. My first real mechanic's job was working for an old German Master Tech who was trained at the Ferrari factory in the late 1950's. His observation was that the Ferrari V12 was one of the most complicated engines ever designed due to the complex flow characteristics of the intake system.

This guy on the grassrootsmotorsport forum has literally re-engineered the entire intake system and flow, and surprisingly made it work very well. That fact alone puts that gent into a very special league of amateur gearhead engineers. --- He's to the Ferrari V12 what Smokey Yunick was to the SBC.

When I worked for the auto electrician, the service manager was this short Italian guy, who had learned the trade working on Vespas under a street lamp back in the old country. He was famous for being able to tune the six webers on a Ferarri 512BB that had been grey-market imported.
