Being honest, once I got actual prybar sets I did stop using screwdrivers as prybars, except for paint cans. LOL, just 2 days ago used an old beat SD to remove a paint can lid for the Mrs.

I continue using SD for paint can lids because invariably I end up getting paint on the tool I am prying with. Less concern if I get paint on a beat SD than more expensive prybars.

I don't ever recall using a SO screwdriver to pry on anything more demanding than a can of paint. Generally if I use a screwdriver to pry it is a turd I don't care about.

This is a turd I dont care about. It had been abused long before I started abusing it.

So does that " pry bar " go with your other pry bars or with your screwdrivers?
I could use a screwdriver as a pry bar, but if I was using it as a pry bar I'd want to keep it with the other pry bars because that's where I reach when I want to pry on something.

This tool is very fluid with how it/pos identifies which means it/pos could be in any drawer it/pos chooses. Sometimes it's a screwdriver, sometimes it's a prybar, sometimes it's a punch, sometimes it's a hammer, sometimes it's a pos I throw at racoon I find taking a crap in my shop.

I've snapped the tip off many Snap on Screwdrivers, driver shows up I get a new shaft.

I don't play that identity BS.
Some people would say a pry bar is any tool that identifies as a pry bar and that only a pry bar can say what a pry bar is, but I'm not afraid to answer the question " what is a pry bar ".

I'll modify a junker into something else,  but if I'd trust it not to break or bend while prying on things It's probably a decent screwdriver, and why would I want to abuse a decent screwdriver?
 I have pry bars that I keep handy so I don't have to use a screwdriver,  and why would I keep a screwdriver in my set for the sole purpose of prying on things when I could just keep an actual pry bar there or reach to the pry bar rack where I typically reach when I need a tool for prying on things.


I only bring it up because this was a screwdriver discussion, for tools that I drive screws with.

That works great for access or on a route. If you are not on a route. Warranty with SO can sometimes be a real PITA. I learned years ago to avoid Warranty with SO if at all possible. At least that how it has worked for me,  more a coin toss sometimes great, other times not so much.

I have a friend that owns his own shop and the Big 3 stop by there weekly. I will drop off a bag with him with whatever I need fixed and within a couple weeks I have new or fixed items. Had a 1/4 SO ratchet done last week. It all depends on what kind of drivers you have in your area.

Still comes down to service provided at a regular customers site. Without that access you mentioned is generally where the biggest issues encountered will generally be found. Or at least that has been my experience.  YMMV
