Great assortment of photos.  The pic of the service truck with the young mechanic through me til I realized the vehicle was a stripped down Fordson tractor.  It has car tire carcases strapped to the steel wheels.     The earlier pic of the girl in coveralls kneeling by the Chevy truck, looks vintage , but in the background is a folded up Black -Decker Workmate, 1970s?  Keep em coming.

Long before I was born we got our electricity from this power plant in Alvin, Texas.
Alvin Electric Generator. This was located where the old Ice House was later. It is now a parking lot for Stantons next to where they have their natural gas sales..
The generator only ran a few hours in the evening after it got dark.
