According to this 1950’s Police Safety League booklet there is life threatening danger at every turn for the teen and pre-teen. God help you if you happen to ride a bicycle. It would appear that fear has always been a great motivation.

Would you rather be Bill or Joe?
I drove a Scenic Cruiser one night. Can't remember if it had whitewalls or not.

Paint your hot rod at the curb, yeah, overspray drifting to the neighbors house!  Loved the car dealer shot, owned a bunch of those. "You can trust your car, to the man that wears the star, the big red Texaco star."  Looks like the Greyhound is getting a Police motorcycle escort, wonder why?
