Vintage Allied Hex Drivers --
« on: August 13, 2018, 05:32:27 PM »
I buy these sets when I see them at meets and e-bay. They are a great value and definitely good quality Japanese tool steel.
Allied International Tools was an American company that has imported quality Japanese tools since the 1970's. Most all their older Japanese tool line is underrated -- hence they usually go for pennies.

Found this driver set a few years ago -- I really like it!

This older set is from the early 1980's

Keep an eye out for these sets  -- good value and they usually go cheap!!

Thanks for the tip. I don't have any allied stuff, but love old little known and undervalued brands that can be had for cheap.

I have a few tools from the big names, but most of my tools are Craftsman, Toptul, Blackhawk, Truecraft, and Gearwrench with a good smattering of Fuller, Genius, Kobalt, etc. Decent quality stuff, but easy on a poor boys budget.

I recall Sams Clubs used to sell Allied tools when they first came on the scene in the 1980's
You boys better hold on cause I'm gonna have to stand on it!
