I sometimes require a "long pattern" wrench when working on E-Types, but the cost of US made sets is prohibitive. However, I have noticed that many of my "pro" wrench friends have opted for ATD tools for certain applications.
ATD is a US company that sources their own professional mechanics tools from Taiwan and China. On their recommedation I opted for a set of SAE long patterns that have been surprisingly well made and after using them for several months can absolutley attest to their quality and performance. The fit and finish is excellent, but these are used, so they have some dings and scratches, but the chrome is rich and deep. They look and feel like the old series II MAC sets sold from the early 1960's on.
These were an e-bay find for $18.00, new sets go for less than $50.
