This is amazing. I am floored but what's been posted today. Very impressive and some very desirable stuff.

I recall years ago over on channel 3 some guy posted I think a Snap-on Migit set like the one shown that was NOS and still in its circa WWII cosmoline. I might be mixed up, it might not have been that set but it was a box of some NOS WWII vintage sockets or a complete set. Now that was crazy.
You boys better hold on cause I'm gonna have to stand on it!

Those SK 1/4" palm ratchets are the best. I have had mine since the 1980's and have always prized it greatly. Best under dash ratchet ever IMHO

Agreed, I like the ratcheting mechanism in these even better than a similar Snap-On version.

d42, Very coool looking collection! My apologies for breaking up your pic posting with my thread reply on the previous page.

One of the Plomb sets you posted is in what looks like an original light colored grey box. Is this a special contract or specific military set?

I remember that set UB. At the time it was being debated weather to clean it up or leave it coated. I hope it was left as it was.

That was a fortunate eBay pick up. It’s a set specifically made for the Navy that I keep in my NAF toolbox. Here are some more pictures. The tools should be marked with NAF numbers but those are incredibly rare.

I knew there was something special about this set. That's just an incredible find! Do you think that the rarity of this particular style/configuration is due to very low or specific production?

I’m really not sure why they are so rare. I only know of two other long time Plomb collectors that have them. I have many other NAF marked tools that are readily available, such as Auto Wrenches, so it really doesn’t make sense to me.

Now you have me wondering if the NAF 1/2dr socket I have came from a Plomb box like yours.
I'm sure wherever it came from it's likely somewhat common, otherwise I'd never have ended up with it.

Yeah, I have several 1/2” drive Plomb NAF tools in the Navy box. They aren’t too hard to find.

Very nice sets H&S. I’m really liking that Indestro ratchet. How is it working for you?
