Here are some P&C sets from four decades. The oldest one is from the late 40’s. What seems to be unusual is the ratchet. The paddle handle is reminiscent of Plomb WF 9/32 ratchets of WWII, but the head looks like the Plomb pebble ratchet.

The set in the blue case is from the 50’s and the ratchet and the breaker bar Have a different type of handle.

By the 60’s P&C changed the ratchet all together with a Thorsen type design before Proto discontinued the brand.

And if it is not to Corny!

I know it is missing a few sockets, but I am not sure what else, as I have never seen a catalog from that era.

As can be seen, with the exception of the ratchets, the 4795 1/4 sets were very similar for both the Proto and P&C sets in the 60’s.

You guys just knock me out.

Cruiser I have seen that odd P&C ratchet before. I like it.
People who confuse etymology and entomology bug me in ways I can’t put into words.

Really like the Cornwell set. I don’t see many of those here in Hawaii. In fact, I haven’t seen any 1/4 sets in the wild.

Hi Steve, you’ve got some pretty awesome sets too. That Par-X set is unbelievable.

Cruiser, yours and CRTDI's seem like new! Mine have that rough around the edges look, the lived-in feel.

BWWrd0, you have some awesome sets. And, if I see correctly, your top Plomb case is one of the first that the company made. The early 1/4 cases didn’t have the upper lid finger grab. If your upper lid is flat at the middle, you have a rare older Plomb case and that is oh so sweet.
