Frame for an RC? all mine had a base plate of aluminum. May have to get the T maxx out and see if it'll start up.
I gave up running it when the dog tore the front tire off. it could outrun the dog until I lost control then the dog would give it the shakes. :)) parts would go flying.

Skunk Works sent a picture and called, saying the motor, transmission & shifter were ready. Sent my driver over to pick it up. If i have the time over the weekend will install it. Driver took forever to get back, think he went thru Windy's, told me it was.... traffic :-[

Saturday morning, everyone is a little slow starting. Friday being payday, money burning holes in packets. The young lasses out an about waiting to help the guys spend that cash. Don't count on em showing up on time.
Once the crew shows up, after some coffee and a few dozen donuts the work begins.
About mid afternoon the parts from the Skunk Works were installed. Finished the rest of the frame, and bracing for stiffing to remove flex under hard loads.

Garage has been working on sub assemblies, so far all the parts have been a bolts right on kind of deal. Very nice kit, happily impressed how far the RC hobby has evolved.
The rear drive, the end cap that cages the bearing is short. With the bearing in place, and the housing on the end of the axle tube. The screw holes are way off, not even close,
No big deal, after pulling the diff cover and gear just to verify. Set the rear in a vise, located and drill new holes. Want to see the set up got a shot, will post.

Starting to take shape, shop finished the suspension, shocks filled, steering in place. Blue tape seen is keeping bearings in place on the half shafts, drive shafts, keeping the phase aligned.
Sending Bones, on a run to the tire shop. He will take the snow cat, he loves driving that thing. Never gets stuck in traffic, using short cuts thru open fields, parks and golf courses.

Nice compact internals on that differential. Must be a stout assembly.

No shop pictures, cause things got hairy and problems solved, required time and brain storming.
What happen, after the guys got the suspension hung. Standing back it became extremely obvious and annoying LOL. That the diff too ground angles and drive shaft were not correct.
Not terrible, just unexpected, the reason the kit so far has been very well designed. So some suspension tuning was the flavor of the day. Got the front drive worked out, doing the rear later today...... After some leaf blowing and Christmas outside decorating.
Forgot Bones did pick up the tires.............. look at that face, -maniac, hide your kids and dogs

Angles corrected, on to the wiring and interior. Wiring will require it be installed between the frame rails. The kit came with all lights, & roof mount road lamps. I show the picture of that mess, rather have the interior.
Seat came from another kit all else will be scratch built, using plastruct. A few shots of the wiring, seat, and the beginnings of the interior, paper patterns developing.

Put Bones to work on the electrics, Hands got busy with the dash & firewall. Some paint work and bed test mount and receiver fitted up.

Hands came to work full of ideas, all jazzed and ready to pound, cut, weld and shape some sheet metal. And dam he is noisy in the process.
A few hours later sitting in the office, head phones on playing Dark side of the Moon, alarm clocks ringing . All's quiet in the shop ........... Hmm what's up?
Out the door too the floor, with remnants of welding smoke rising and collecting in the ceiling. So surprised, stunned by what Hands had accomplished in such a short time, I almost fell down.
Dash, firewall, and console, from paper patterns. Mocked up and ready for the instruments and all that goes into a finished interior.
Hey Hands! take the rest of the day off have some beers on me. Tossed him some cash (overhead expenses), no worry I'll clean up the shop..

Well now dash & console are finished, Bones, and anyone looking at him. Can pick up on he's the electric guy, And some days not real good at it .. shocking :-\

Body & bed in primer

Saturday, seemed like it was a good to do some paint work. Taped up the body & bed, mix some color. Couple of hours later, it went from primer to the color coat.
I 'll let this thing cure for now, have the crew start the build of the detail assemblies .

The boys had a struggle lifting and bolting on that bumper. After drenched in sweat, someone who will remain nameless. Comes up with the idea, it might have been easier to, hang it first, then add the accessories.
That person was quickly escorted to the back of the shop. Followed with a blanket party.
Once again proving, sometimes the less said the best said.. oh well the bumper looks great
