Swung by a church rummage sale this morning on the way to the cobbler. Found this Wright open gear ratchet on a table full of kitchenware. Looks pristine, 1/2" drive. I shelled out what the price tag said - I think I overpaid. Is there any pity out there?
Awesome score, I've often been intrigued by the open head design.Every time I see a wright ratchet it makes me more and more anxious for 1/4" 2426 to get here, that grip looks like a really ergonomic one and I can't wait to try it out.

The Wright secures the gear to the knuckle with a small allen screw, rather than the hidden drive pin. Remove the allen screw, push out the knuckle, roll out the gear, easy peasy.
bman,I have a theory about these ratchets; i.e. the military likes them in their field tool kits because they work under extreme conditions and are hard to break. The one I found at the local dirt market (about 5 miles from an Army base) had a military inventory number etched on the handle. It's my theory and I'm sticking too it.
