the shoppette worktable
« on: September 09, 2018, 02:18:51 PM »
This is half of a long buffet table I made years ago.  Poor storage and abuse had taken a toll.

Just recycling its own parts and a few minor mods it is now the shoppette worktable.  Light duty stuff and teardown/fixing household stuff is its future life.  The shoppette is small so this also has to be small.  Just 48 X 20"  should be enough for most things.

The mighty 2.5" vise I have been beating on for 14 years.
     Good tough vise.

Looks sturdy! I like that the front is open so you sent on a chair in front.

Looks like some progress. You must be pretty excited.
People who confuse etymology and entomology bug me in ways I can’t put into words.

Thanks guys.

Sturdy is relative here.  It is a good lightweight work table but the top deck is slats from wood fruit crates.    The other 4' of the deck is still open for ideas.

I had the table ready to repair or reuse and nobody wanted a long table.  I wanted any place to mount a vise again and since no one cared....

Total cost of conversion....  zero.  Everything was here and paid for.
