Iowa farm auction 9/15/18
« on: September 13, 2018, 12:05:36 PM »
Talk about tons of junk! I did spot a few gems in there like the shear and post drill. I imagine there will be collectors there for quite a bit of stuff but wonder how much will go to scrap.

There is definitely some scrap but TONS of gold. All of those hit and miss/washing machine engine are bringing $500+++ any more, the right brands in the correct HP can bring 5k++ (I bet that 3ph Fairbanks will bring good money). Most of the tractor $750+ machines, the threshing machines are very neat and getting harder to find $1500++.

I have also notice that more and more antique road building and construction machinery showing up machinery shows. I could see those old graders powered by farmalls bring several thousand.

Man would I love to go to this sale.  8) 8)

With our rich farming and mining history here some of that is pure gold as yard art. Someone would even snatch up those old drag line buckets in a heartbeat.

Lots of gold there.

its pretty evident he never bought one of anything and NEVER got rid of anything. Wow.. Too bad it all just fell apart over time.

I would love to have the old late 50s early 60s Ford 4x4 truck... or either of the buicks... or the Jeep wagon.  and a few of the hit and miss engines.  I wonder how far gone most of those tractors are tho... looks like they have been sitting out rusting away for decades.

Them tractors dont look to be beyond saving, but if I had to guess when one broke beyond minimal repair he went and bought another one.

I must be getting lazy and old. I think I would rather have the money than everything I saw there. If that sale is well attended the take should be fat!
You boys better hold on cause I'm gonna have to stand on it!
