Title: Sculpture by mother nature
Post by: strik9 on October 02, 2020, 11:03:04 PM
I pulled this chunk of tree out of a mountain river and thought it might make good rustic decor.    Some reddish caoba color stain (it will be less brown in a week as it sets in) and varnish made it a bit more like our decor.

It was a bit big to move on a bike rack but details like that don't bother me.

The artist is the river, I just made it colorful.

Nice find and artistic eye. Do you play in the river often?

Work tends to get me into odd places and this plus three smaller chunks were on site.  I ran out of all supplies for them for now,   they too will be decor.  My wife loves rustic elements.

That thing was heavy on the rear rack of a bike.

Nice find.

Looking at this picture my first thought was turd, but that's probably just the picture and I'm sure it's a really nice looking piece in the right light.

Its hard to get good pics where it is for goofy lighting.  Its undet the skylight and near a big glass slider and that glucks with my phone camera.

The color is toning down to a reddish slowly and the textures are like this picture.

Looks pretty nice here.
I hate when something looks great in person but I can never get the camera to see what I do, or when something will look better to the camera than it does to me.
