The two images above showing the guy getting ready to paint the Olds and the small one that followed showing the guy taping off are very confusing, especially the one showing the Olds. I do not see "gun ready" in that image. And the small one does little to explain what that guy is going to paint at all.
You boys better hold on cause I'm gonna have to stand on it!

That's a heck of a frame rack in the last pic. Pretty cool!!

Quite cool. Looks like they could make some pretty complex pulls with that. Wonder what kind it is.

Looks European?

I think the gent in the small pic is back-taping the panel to establish a blend line, while in the large pic the image may be staged, but I don't thinks so. I can remember clearly that spot painting was often done without using a dust mask or respirator, and the adjoining panels being only partially taped off to protect from overspray. Lacquer paint ruled and it was relatively easy to blend and cut paint to match the existing finish -- hence they did the absolute minimum masking.

Thanks Ray, I was hoping for some clarity. I hate lacquer, I was never able to make anything I painted in lacquer shine. Once I started with enamel and hardener I never again used lacquer. Plus, lacquer is not as durable as enamel and more prone to damage. In fact if someone told me all I could use is lacquer I would never fill a gun cup again!

That is awesome. There are some very desirable tools there - including two of the spinner ratchets.

Is that a Herbrand factory store? What a task it would be to fill all those boards today.
