Title: Estate sale battery tools and such
Post by: bmwrd0 on July 31, 2019, 07:39:42 PM
A couple weeks ago, I went to an estate sale on its last day, as the ad said that there was still a ton of stuff and it had to go. Well, it was a good day for crap hunting (as my wife calls it.) Along with a bunch of misc. sockets and wrenches (couldn't let those go to the scrappers) I picked up some real gems that I couldn't believe were still there. This was probably the most interesting thing I picked up:

Its a little too brittle to roll up, and the snap doesn't quite work, but,

Then again, its probably 70 years old now. Also picked up this lamp:

But after cleaning it up and putting on a new plug I was able to test it, and it worked fine. Makes a good lathe lamp.

Also dug this up.

Cool stuff -- the lamp is top quality. You should get some good use out of that.

This is my third Dazor, and I have as many Luxo's, which are just like them, including a magnifier. I am getting used to rebuilding them as they make great work lamps. Unsurprisingly.

The flare nut socket is 1-13/16". It is one of the ratcheting kind made by TAC/Proto. Soaking it in JAFE juice when I get the chance.

I love me some Blue Bird tools, and have a few too. Battery maintenance just does not have the frequency that it once did. Gawd, did things get crappy in a hurry back in the day.
