I'm in Ohio and my county defiance is just starting to go up. We have 5 confirmed cases as of today

Yes, and it was only a 104 bed facility, willing to bet the number of cases climbs as well as the death toll
What I struggle with is I, like you GF and many others here, am in the at risk category because I am over 60. Thankfully, I am healthy and active but I also know I ain't what I used to be and while I have been boosting my immune system all winter with Lypo-speric Vitamin C and didn't even get a cold, not sure how my body will react to a serious illness. Now I don't stay awake at night worrying but it sucks to be in the at risk category :38:

They haven't figured out the relationship between Covid-19 and vitamin D yet. But healthy levels of vitamin D do help boost your immune system. I may increase my intake from what I am taking. I have to look at my last blood workup results to see where my level is.

I take vit D every day. Selinium and zinc supposed to help immune system as also. I just eat foods for those 2. Be lucky if there is any economy left after this calms down.

As recommended by the chiropractor, I'm taking Vitamin D3 every day for the knees.
I want to be optimistic about the economy coming back but in all honesty I think alot of businesses that have been forced to close won't be able to reopen. They were running such tight margins there just wasn't any room to adjust so fast, if at all.

In our county we have had 20 confirmed cases. I was recently in the hospital for something else and was tested. Tested negative.
We are just south of Houston where there are many more cases.

We've had 7 cases here and 3 are active and 4 are recovered. I hope this trend continues. As much as I dislike our current Governor I do have to give him credit for shutting down the non-essential businesses on St. Patrick's Day. While the total cases in the state are over 1,000 with the majority in Vegas and Reno that is not a surprise.

59 cases almost half are from a rehab hospital, not patients but staff. No fatalities yet.

Doesn't give one a lot of hope when the local (quite large) hospital has a patient die and then discover she had the virus. Oh yes, it gets worse since the workers had not been wearing masks (there were only two cases in the county) and they are now figuring that 80 to 100 people had been in contact with her during the past week. Me thinks it is a good time to stay out of hospitals if you have a choice.

I live in the county where Pleasant Hill nursing home is. 17 deaths as of yesterday. 81 out of 95 patients have it and I think 18 staff. Fortunately for me, it is on the other side of the county.
The assisted living center where my mom was until she passed last year reported 2 cases yesterday. I am glad she didn't have to go through this.

Cases in my county jumped to almost 500 yesterday. Seemingly out of nowhere.
And yes, staying away from any hospital is a major goal these days. That's why I'm taking extra precautions not to injure myself while doing alot more work in the shop.
Don't want to pick up the virus while the doctor sews up a wound on my hand. :91:

I think our county is at 10 or 11 with at least 4 recovered and no deaths. Our county leads the state in social distancing with an A- rating. I guess that means we can be real a-holes and stay away from people or it may be because we are majority Republicans and smarter and listen better than others. :great:

Not many official cases around here in rural Miss. But testing is limited to severe cases so that headline number is just the tip of the iceberg. I know a few folks who've probably got/had it but none of them got tested.

This virus (with regard to the continental US) has not been as deadly as the seasonal flu. Whatever variable(s) caused those models to predict "millions" of cases and hundreds of thousands of deaths points to the fact that the CDC clearly needs to restructure their sampling methodology.

I don't really see anything there, or elsewhere, which indicates their statistical modelling was way off at this point. By the time this wave plays out it looks like being an "official" seven figure case count and a six figure death toll is a possibility. Death toll has gone from minimal to bad flu season level in the last four weeks. And that's with all the measures in place attempting to stop the virus spreading.

Maine now has more recovered cases than active cases. Of course in reality Maine has no clue how many cases there have been and therefor how many have recovered.

I think that's the problem all over, they have no idea how many have recovered from this so its hard to put a real % on it. What I'm seeing is this pandemic thing was played to the hilt and made to destroy our economy, yeah its bad but not the devastation that was initially predicted. Certainly has a political tilt to it, both foreign and domestic.
My county currently has 97 cases 3 hospitalized and 1 death. the death wasn't here but the guy was from here so it counts for us. He had been in Houston for a month at MD Anderson, died there.
Our county hospital is so slow right now they are furloughing employees. my wifes been off a week and a half.

My county now has almost 1000 cases and 151 deaths. But then the local health department head comes on and says not to put much stock in such "raw" numbers because they are only really useful to the professionals. :a102:
I don't think they have a clue. It sounds like a bunch of damage-control and CYA if you ask me.

Not sure who ran those number -- CDC, NIH, WHO, NHS, or a combination thereof, but it was reported as being the most stable and accurate models that were baselined against already developing Italian pandemic numbers.

Thank God spring farm work has started. Hopefully there will be folks to harvest the food so we can eat. Food shortages, and I mean real shortages would spell chaos

The W/E 04/18 data obviously isn't final, and W/E 04/11 looks low too. The tracking sites which update regularly are currently showing 800K+ cases and around 45K deaths. Even the CDCs numbers are close to that but they're a day or so behind.

I think your are referring to a coors light tap, they are found in most homes in the kitchen with a large basin underneath it. Most people wash dishes with it since its so thin and watery.

I think your are referring to a coors light tap, they are found in most homes in the kitchen with a large basin underneath it. Most people wash dishes with it since its so thin and watery.

Went grocery shopping in the next county, no reported cases in that county, nobody was wearing a mask. However, the independent grocery store was empty of many items. When I asked, they replied that we order, but don't get a lot of what we order. Wonder when the supply line will dry up?

Went to our local independent grocery Saturday. Fresh meat was selection was full, all of their pork, chicken, and beef comes from processors within a 2 hour drive. Many in our area also has freezers packed away with 1/2 a beef and a hog or two. Canned products where getting light.
I dont think the supply chain is drying up, I think you have a bunch of people sitting at home board out of their minds going to the grocery. You also see how many people ate out instead of cooking.
When you go to the grocery and see the milk is all got but when you go home you see a story that dairy farmers are dumping milk. We don't have a supply problem, we have a packaging and distribution problem. We have the same amount of mouths eat now as we did 6 weeks ago, the mouths are just eating differently and in different places. This affects the dairy and meat processors the most, mainly in packing. Certain facilities produce certain products, a facility that was set up to produce school sized milk cartons is set up to make these cartons as efficiently as possible, they would have to re-tool and change the process to make gallons packages, this takes time and I guarantee is being done (school is over for the year any ways).
We have the most efficient packaging and distribution system in the world. Remember how quickly this all happened, no system in the world would have been able to react to (literally) society upending the way it eats with 48 hrs notice. I really think you will start seeing changes this week.
