Bluing?

Built this stand for a 5 gallon bucket garden. Ive wanted to try growing vegetables for a few years now. I actually had this wood that I had from dismantling the deck that was at our house when we bought it.

If a growing our own does work out, I can always turn it into a mobile workbench.

I always thought of the Starrett Last Word, as one of the very best. The last few years it seems to have fallen out of favor if the comments I read on machinist forums are a good yardstick. That said, I have my doubts about what I read. Most of those commenting seem to hold Starrett mics, or most of the rest of the Starrett product line in low regard. Seems most folks anymore favor Mitutoyo for everything.

In my recent months of binge buying a number of mics and many other machinist goodies, I still hold both Starrett and Mitutoyo in high regard, but have come to hold a number of others in high regard as well, but seem to find most bang for the buck buying used in B&S, Lufkin,  Scherr Tumico,  Moore and Wright and a few others, but primarily the first three brands named. Usually,  Pratt and Whitney mics, especially those like new and still in boxes go insanely high (funny since they are just re-labeled Lufkin) I lucked into a couple of the Pratt and Whitney like new and still in their original cardboard boxes with very little wear and appearing to have never been used even lightly just dirt cheap that are amongst my very favorites.

I really have to get picture posting down because I believe a few of the things I have bought a quite rare and rarely seen.i cannot say I needed some of the stuff I have bought, but have no regrets because I am very selective with most purchases and only rarely have bought any tool showing great wear. I b
prefer very clean, showing little wear, in original boxes which rules a lot of stuff out.
