Something about my birthday and guns. Usually buy one around my birthday. Anyway....

I was looking around for another Ruger Mark series (III or IV) 22 when I saw this in the case next to them.

Springfield Ultra Compact 45acp. A compact 1911 with a 10 rnd double stack magazine. It's definitely seen some rounds through its life. But overall is in good shape. Has what I believe is surface rust (could just be gunk) on the frame but I believe with some elbow grease it should clean up well. Might get a Smith to lighten the trigger up a tad too.

My dad has a combat commander that I feel in love with and have loved the 1911s since I was a kid.

Very nice choice Tim. Can't go wrong with a small 1911 45ACP for a carry gun.

Yep, birthdays and guns. They go together like ice cream and cake. I bought a S&W K22 masterpiece for mine. Better gets some pics up soon.

Nice gat, it will be a handful I bet.

Yeah I have a XDS in 45 with the 4" barrel that packs a punch. Good thing this is a double stack with wide grip other wise it'll be tough to hang on too.

Did you shoot it yet Tim? With all that's going on, a better question probably is -- where you able to find ammo for it? -- LOL
