Some of you may recall this topic from the old site.
A snath is the long wooden handle of a scythe and the snath wrench is used to adjust and remove/replace the blade.
These turn up around here once in a great while and I've taken a liking to them.
rusty over at Tool Talk (different from our Rusty here) made a thread about it:
http://www.papawswrench.com/vboard/index.php?topic=345.msg1861#msg1861
The scythe, without the blade is the Snath
The snath without the handles is a Snead
The handle on the sneed which make it a snath so it can become a scythe
is a Thole.
Go ahead, say that three times fast...
Here is the collection I have amassed so far.

I have never seen or noticed any of those wrenches. Pretty cool and will have to keep an eye out.
-
They are neat but they are hard to walk away from once you start accumulating a few.
-
They are cool. I have two myself. DOE of course...
-
Of course yours are DOE. You are the banner carrier for DOE.

I have a couple somewhere, now I will know what purpose they serve.
