Title: Croydon Aviation Heritage Centre
Post by: Rural53 on November 21, 2021, 05:44:30 PM
In the South Island of New Zealand at Mandeville there is the Croydon Aircraft Company and the Croydon Aviation Heritage Centre. The Heritage Centre has a collection of, mostly flying, vintage aircraft (This is a repost from my South Island trip photos as it should probably be in this section. Also I don't know why Tapatalk posts some photos smaller).

de Havlland 83 Fox Moth. This was the first registered passenger aircraft in NZ.

Great pictures and thank you. Does the 1910 Pither use wing warping instead of ailerons?

Yes, it uses wing warping. At about 1:00 in this video you can see the warping.

Very cool, thanks for sharing. Amazing the simplicity yet over engineering of old machines.
