Title: Interesting airports on Google maps
Post by: DeadNutz on December 19, 2021, 07:24:05 PM
Just thought I would post a link to an interesting airport in the SoCal desert near Victorville. It is the former George AFB now called SoCal Logistics Airport. They store airliners from around the world there. Some are mothballed for possible future use while others just sit there and might get the mothball treatment or get airworthy parts removed to be used on other aircraft.
You can recognize some of the paint jobs and liveries such as all the Soutwest 737's. It is also where most of the L-1011's were flown to and retired along with many FedEx aircraft. See how many you can recognize by clicking on the link and looking around. There are at least a couple of Air New Zealand 777's sitting there.

I'll post additional interesting airports in the future also.
