So we have all heard the LA Speed Check story. This is the full back story of the guy that tells that story, Brian Shul, including the year he spent in hospital with burns after a plane crash in Vietnam, his return to flying and ultimately flying the SR-71s.

Thanks Rural, what a great guy he is. I've heard the LA flight center story many times, but never knew his background. The pain this man suffered after his crash in Vietnam must have been horrendously excruciating and almost unimaginable. What a guy --

His is an incredible story. I'll have to check our book stash as we may have a copy of his book he signed for the wife. We were fortunate to meet SR-71 pilots at aviation events.
