Title: 1947 Ford Manuals
Post by: stokester on September 12, 2022, 03:40:31 PM
Anyone out there have or collect or even have a friend that has a 1932 -1947 Ford?

I have two genuine Ford repair manuals for anyone who could use them, please not for resale.

With the exception of the covers they are in excellent condition.  The books were stored next to some kind of paper that stuck and tore when removed.

Let me know.

Nick

One, I wish I did.  I'd just like to read them for a bit, but they deserve to go to someone (or a group of them like the Shrinners car guys), that would use them.

Two, those SOOOOOO remind me of those great old Motor manuals, that unfortunately are no more.  I miss those.  I kept the one for my first car, until a water pipe burst.  Reminds me I should check ebay for a replacement.

They're in great shape. I collect old manuals and service literature for pre-war cars, but hope that someone who is in a club, or who has one of these cars can connect with you and get these little treasures.

They're yours Ray if you want to add to the collection.

Thank you!

Seriously Ray? I figured first come first serve! Heck ya, you bet I will! No difference except marker lights between 1942, 46, 47 and 48 Ford cars externally and some changes to dash, instrument panel and steering wheel.  Outside of those minor things everything was the same for those years on Ford cars, even 1948 due to re tooling post WW II. 1949 and fifty saw the post war redesign with the shoebox Ford's.  That is also why tradional rods were always considered those pre 1948, while customs were not measured by a pre 48 break year.

Ya Ray, I would love to have those manuals as reference materials!

Can do, but it might take me a bit. The 46 and the 30 coupe are both in an RV storage unit north of town along with the contents of dad's garage so there are tons of parts and stuff surrounding both cars. They went into storage in 2019 and I have yet to make enough progress sorting things out at my place to move them here. I have not even been in the storage unit in over a year.

I would think those storage fees gotta be hurting you?

Costs $180 a month. Not cheap, but it could be worse I suppose.
