Torque wrench questions...

I need a 1/4 torque wrench must goto atleast 200in lbs from 30in lbs.

My dad also has a 1/2 sk torque wrench 74250 that handle unscrewed into his hands id like to fix it or get it close enoughto accurate to be good 5 to 10lbs wont matteronbolts i use it on.. Id like a exploded view of how it goes together... For price of sending to team torque icould buy a new armstrong off ebay that cover same rating 30to 250ft lbs

Even new may not be actually in spec.  I found that out when a pilot friend sent mine to get checked as a thank you for doing him some favor, and my brand new Proto was out of spec.

I agree that being off a bit is no big deal on most things.  Just get them close and more importantly, evenly torqued is usually enough.  If you are building race car motors, accuracy matters much more.

I test all I sell against an electronic torque wrench I have and if they are close, I mark them as such.  If off too much, they don't get sold here or sold knowing they need calibration.
