Cheers Tim -- you deserve a good drink. How'd the little tractor go over with Sam?

Yeah, lots of BS involved in storing and smoking good cigars. Most of the "connoisseur" stuff can be ignored, except for humidity control. Nothing kills a cigar's taste (regardless of cost) quicker than either too little or too much moisture in the storage container.

For the New Year I’ll try this combo. Romeo y Julieta (Dominican) with a good Italian Prosecco (sparkling wine)

Great choice Ray! Romeo n Julieta are some very nice fairly inexpensive cigars!

I'll probably have one or two cigars on New Year's Eve. One while getting everything ready, and another while hanging out with the guys around the turkey fryer.

Friend of mine came back from Guatemala where he went to a very “hoity toity” cigar shop to pick up some aged Cubans. I can’t afford these on regular basis, but this one cigar is from a lot that was put into the aging room in 1992 - hence this cigar is probably 26/27 years old. Price is ridiculous -at $92 per cigar.

This is my belated Christmas present - man what a great tasting smoke - I almost feel guilty smoking it - Almost!

Late post, this is what I enjoyed while frying the turkey New year's eve.

Had to hide under the overhang as it was raining. (Big surprise for PA anymore!)

Can't go wrong with Padron -- nice smoke Tim. Hope it helped you through the cold and drudgery of waiting outside for the turkey to fry.

Wow, a $92 cigar.  Didn't know they went that high.

Well I had to google it

https://moneyinc.com/most-expensive-cigars-that-money-can-buy/

You're just scratching the surface -- most of those cigars are special editions and not even Cubans. I saw a cabinet of 25 count 1935 Partagas cigars for sale in London not too long ago (2010), and the sticker was $52,000. These are the ones that were actually for sale to the general public. They had way more expensive offerings, but those were tucked away in a vault-like humidor room. The store in London has extremely rare Cuban vintages that are not for sale to the general public and only available to a select few "well heeled" private customers who regularly spend hundreds of thousands of dollars in the establishment.

I'm not a connoisseur -- but I like aged Cubans when I can afford them (which is once/twice a year tops). At around $100 a shot, I can only afford one or two a year. That's why I decided to buy young/fresh Cubans and age them myself for 5-10 years.

Yeah I'm hard pressed paying much over $12 for a cigar. After that it's a"very special" occasion cigar.

Most boutique cigars can be had for $7-$10. All depends on shape (size) and variety of tobacco.
