Cable connectors clamps
« on: November 17, 2018, 11:37:26 PM »
I need to buy a pair of cable clamps to connect my trailer winch.
I `d like to buy a pair of 1st world made copper clamps.
Any suggestions?
Is the need enough? Or does the want suffice?

Some really good connectors out there. Depends of course on the current and wore gauge you'll be using but start here.

I like these and they're priced pretty reasonable and they have a cap to cover the contacts when not connected.

These are really trick and come in a variety of colors and there's even an environmental cover available.

These come for somewhat larger gauge cables and are trick but don't have a cover.

I wired the last set into one of cars and replaced the battery clamps with a [permanent connection on a set of jumpers so I could plug in the one end and the only needed the clamps on the other end.

I was thinking about this style to attach to the terminals.

I thought you were looking to hardwire.

No experience with the style you show but those look good.

I had a set like JAFE shows on my old truck. they work really well. and the best part is no-one wants to borrow your jumper cables once they see that end on it. Got a set on connectors for the new truck just haven't figured out where I want to tie them in at.

We use this style of connector for trailer winches (and as auxiliary start on race cars). As slip note says, they work really well.
