You could see what Trumps plan was, get joe off his prepared lines, get him to lose focus, make him snap. But the moderator stepped in and played defense for joe and that pissed Trump off and he went into full bull in china shop mode........But I dont think it hurt him. Trump base is huge, it has only grown since 2016. Just like in 2016 Trumps base sticks with him, joe stammered and read off cookie cutter political phrases that I think the country is tired of hearing. If anything, the undecided voter is put off by both an will stay home.

I agree completely, it won't hurt him with his base, but that's not what he should be thinking about.  The campaign needs to be going after those undecideds, especially women.  Trump didn't need to try and get Biden off his game, Biden was doing a good enough job on his own.  Worrying about what your opponent is doing is a desperate strategy.  There was no need for it.

What is so infuriating is Trump's policies are clearly better than Biden's, the problem is the spokesperson.  People will vote for Biden not because they think his policies are better, they just want someone they like more.  Likeability shouldn't be a big factor, but in today's 24 hour social media newscycle, it is.  I'm not saying Trump shouldn't attack the media at times for their dishonesty and fake news, but you have to be smart about picking your spots.  Tuesday wasn't the time.  Tuesday he should've showed he was presidential and picked apart Biden's arguments, which would've been easy to do.  And he wouldn't have lost one voter from his base either.

I swear Trump is his own worst enemy.

What's with the name calling?  Pep, you may think Trump is wonderful, but half the people in this country don't.  Actually a lot more than half recognize that he is an Ass, but some of those vote for him because they don't like the big gov socialist agenda of the Dems.  This will be a very close election.  It will hinge on suburban soccer moms and black turnout in a few states (Michigan and Wisconsin).  Neither of those groups liked Hillery.   You think Trump's debate performance helped him in either of those states?  You think his debate performance will help the Republicans keep the Senate?

Pep, your kind of predictable.  There are a bunch of old guys like you, and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what they think, and how they will vote.

d42jeep, I'm more interested in your thoughts.  What do you think are the biggest issues in our country?  Obviously race is a concern of yours, what else?  Do you consider yourself D, R, or independent?  Did either candidate say anything that you liked?  Not looking to pick a fight.  Just interested in the thoughts of someone who might have a different background than me.  Thanks
