House Paint is HOW MUCH!

(1/2) > >>

stokester:
I'm in the middle of a refresh of my library, music, front room.  The wallpaper under the chair rail moulding has been removed, the walls holes filled and sanded and all cleaned with the ammonia/vinegar/baking soda solution by my wife.

We have generally used the local Sherwin-Williams store near my house for most paint and have an "account" with them.  When my wife purchased the near-best wall paint it was $70/gal :c029:  And that was after our discount.

Although I'm sure there are less expensive paints available we have always been satisfied with the SW product.

Like many things these days that you don't purchase regularly, prices have increased substantially.

goodfellow:
I was informed two years ago that most discount paints, and almost all paint ingredients, were manufactured in China.

We all know what’s happening in China, and the supply of those cheap products has been reduced significantly.

The price of automotive paint and supplies has skyrocketed as well. In some cases five-fold.

Good luck Nick!

If you do facebook, follow the Sherwin Williams store in your area. They have sales and thats when I go buy my paint. Last summer I got Duration at 40% off. Still damned expensive but better than full price.

walrus:
Gallon of single stage PPG shop line urethane with reducer and hardener in 67 Ford Wimbolden White was 465 bucks at local auto paint store.

It's everything, bro! Everywhere I go, prices are thru the roof. I need to repaint my roof white this spring, probably gonna need a respirator after I hear the price.
