I had to pull the Vibration Damper on my '05 4.6L Mustang a few weeks. The damper did not have any threaded holes and I could not get a standard 3 jaw puller in the slots. I went to Autozone and found a Chrysler Vibration damper puller that has 3 "straight" jaws and a stem set that goes into the bolt hole.
The tool worked perfectly. I had the damper off within a minute.
Autozone lends these tools out so there's no need to buy one if you have the store nearby.
Oh, and to put it back on, I bought a longer bolt and put some washers behind it to easily reinstall the damper. I would recommend buying a new bolt from a parts store to get the correct torque instead of using the old one.
