Tiny ball peen hammer
« on: February 18, 2020, 06:15:26 PM »
I stopped by a neighbor's house yesterday to give him an old hand separator oil can I found in my sister's barn. Very old with an unusual 2 spout top on the quart can. I saw this tiny hammer hanging on his workbench and asked him about it. He said it was issued to him at the phone company years ago because the boss wouldn't allow them to use a staple gun on wires in a customer's house. He said the company bought these by the box and he gave me this one.
The head is 1-3/4" long and the smallest ball peen hammer I have ever seen and now in my box.

That IS tiny. :great:
MAGA

If you can’t fix it with a hammer, it must be electrical.

How well balanced is that tiny hammer ?

Pretty good I'd say as the handle is big enough to hold well.

Pretty cool.
I've seen these before, I believe they're for jewlers.
I have seen them used in watch and clock repair as well.
Always lookin' to learn

I picked up a 4oz mini ball pien for making gaskets years ago.  Then it was forgotten as I worked auto shop stuff a few years.

Now back in the diesel shop its back in demand.  Maybe one day it will make a gasket?

Can't knock a good hammer.
People who confuse etymology and entomology bug me in ways I can’t put into words.
