i have had this 34280 chest for years. my goal was to complete the set that went in it. thanks to bmwrdo, i have a picture and the set contents from a cataolog. as it turned out i have a lot of it already so i assembled what i had and took a few pics.

my issue is that a lot of these pieces are from my main box so i am looking for a lot of bits for the "display" set

just snagged these dirt cheap off the bay. short dbe 3/8x7/16, 1/2x9/16 and 5/8x11/16,

sorry, i missed this. i would say yes, it is either diamond or sk. those look to be the heavy duty cutters. for a time, diamond made pliers for sk. i have seen the sk slip joint pliers with the tell tale diamond casting in the handle.

there were lots of cheaper pliers with lighter green handles but they were pretty easy to pick out. i don't know of any other brands that used that dark green color. klein has used a lot of colors but i don't recall seeing that green.

I don't know if this is the case for the handles but specific colors or color combinations can be trademarked. It is possible SK trademarked that specific color green for the handles.

how about some blue. although it goes against everything for a mechanic of the 70's or 80's you never know when you may need some of that new fangled metric.

spend hard earned money on metric? i doubt it but maybe some sk made kraueter metric sockets and wrenches.

I like your style, theres certainly no reason not to go beyond what was intended for the box if you can comfortably fit more and really maximize the set.

yup. the sk ratchet guts are a direct swap. the sockets and wrenches while different share many features and have the same shape as the comparable sk items. oddly, the ratchets and drive tools seem to be thicker with less refinement and the wrenches seem to be thinner with a cheaper finish.

oh yeah, thanks for the compliment s guys and a big shout out to those that supplied me with bits and pieces. i can't recall everyone but i bartered with at least 10 people to put this together. lots of people played a part.
