i received a package from a member last night. sadly the post office took it's cut from the package before it got here. nothing but air.......

i will have to refund him his postage at least as it was a gift. thank you for the kind gesture sir. i appreciate.  i hope nothing else was in it.

Thats a serious bummer.
Not much  to do about it.
Never mind the refund mate.
Is the need enough? Or does the want suffice?

my heart sunk. i saw the damaged package in the box not knowing what it was. the mrs had grabbed it and i didn't have a chance to look at it until we got in the house. when i flipped it over and saw the return address i knew immediately what had been in it.

The mail system has really took a downhill slide lately.

Well that sucks. I'm sure it was something neato coming from the deranged hooligan. It's out there floating around with the 36" OTC cresent wrench USPS lost headed for me last summer. I hope it shreds a belt.

I'm sorry that's happened to you Harlan (and the member who sent the package). USPS is downright in the toilet regarding theft and corruption. Over the last year it's happened to us several times as well. Empty packages, broken contents, and check payments not delivered. It's gotten to the point that on the rare occasion that I need to send a check in the mail, I avoid the USPS and go directly to FedEx. It costs more but it gets there.

Best thing for the country would be for the USPS to get privatized and be forced to compete --

That is indeed a bummer.

But the Post Office said recently that their rates are going up and service will be slower. Actually said that. And right before the busy holiday season. I'm hearing that after the first of the new year things are really going to implode at the PO.

the package was from jabber. i had no intentions of mentioning him as it wasn't his fault but he admitted his part of the crime which was only assuming the po could make a delivery.

Sorry to hear about the package loss. The USPS is nothing more than a criminal operation now as they extort higher prices for poorer service. Yet I see their trucks in our area every Sunday delivering online orders.
