...tool to do a job it was not designed to.

Thought I was going somewhere else...eh? Read on.

My green vintage entrenching tool was feeling a bit lonely in the back of the Land Rover, and when I saw this pick head (sans a handle), I just had to rescue it from the dirt market.

Pic's tell it all, I won't bore you with the details of the restore, other than the red paint was original, it seemed to have a hard life with gold/rock prospector that was the former owner. Sadly, I was to find it was not a US commissioned tool, but is marked "Japan" on the wider end of the pick which I saw later.
