Another come on for a big tool maker.  Mac Tools for years offered cute little 3 wrench sets, and more, all nicely packaged in walnut cases,  they are tools, made to be used, not looked at.   Then there were the Chrysler performance premiums for techs, very thin gold wash on odd sets, again just to be looked at.  Use them just a little and the gold disappears.  DAMHIKT.

LOL -- Maybe the guy that buys the SO set will fork over $500 for this "very rare" Craftsman "Titanium Anodized" 3/8" drive socket set and wood display case AND matching bottle opener. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity -- I think!  ;)

I recently found a 3/8" drive Craftsman ratchet just like that.
I took it apart and lubed it and counted the teeth.
85 teeth and extremely smooth. My only question just how much "torque I can apply with it?
Guessing approx 30 psi.

LOL -- Those sets went for a premium price in 2007 when they were available for the Christmas season. Unfortunately they didn't sell very well -- nobody wanted them, and by 2010 Sears was practically giving them away just to get rid of inventory. IIRC I picked up this set and the opener together for $15.

Another one of those "brilliant" Sears marketing moves during the late 90's and early 2000's that proved without a doubt that the company had lost touch with it's core customer base.

One of my HS buds won a gold plated Snappy wrench set. As part of our auto mechanics trades class. We had annual competions and he won a state award and Snappy presented all the state winners with a gold plated set. it was pretty cool but he never let us use them. He's still a butt about his tools.

its not like we was gonna pee on them. :D
