Excellent!  Glad there is a lot of interest.  What is a good cut-off date for people to sign up?  I don't think we would really need a minimum number of posts this year since the site is still pretty fresh and everyone pretty much knows eachother.

I would have the cut off date around Dec 11th  about 2 week before xmas.

All punters need to reply that they`re in and pm you with their postal addy before they are officially in.
Is the need enough? Or does the want suffice?

1. Reply with the afore mentioned info if you intend to play .
2. I would set a spending cap of $40.
3. if your in, be in all the way and see it through.
4. Packages in the mail by 12 / 12.
5. let Scout know when you`ve sent your boxed treasure.
6. most importantly no peeking or opening till xmas.
7. post up your booty when you have time over the holidays.
I think that should do it?

Thanks for the help everybody!  I'm going to go over everything tonight and will probably create an "official" thread that lists rules and such.

Yes, New or Used?   I sent some lightly used things on another forum,  good stuff,   and receiver was miffed.

Used is acceptable. As long as it is clean useable tool.

Sending some one a worn out screwdriver where the tip looks like it was taken to a bench grinder and is no way salvageable, for example, is not acceptable.

Just an example off the top of your head?

Seriously though a lot would be dependent on the recipient and what you know about them. For most I would think good used tools or something that fits into a collection used would be most welcome. Personally I'm a little surprised anyone would balk at a gift (above example excepted) no matter what it is but that's a different discussion for a different thread.

I think the $40 is a reasonable number and a slight increase in previous numbers is fine due to increased postage rates. I'm in.
