Title: Youtube Channel - Cutting Edge Engineering Australia
Post by: Rural53 on February 07, 2022, 01:29:43 AM
I have been watching this channel for a while now.  It shows machining work from their machining & fabrication workshop on the Gold Coast, Australia that specialises in manual machining, line boring, hydraulic repairs and heavy fabrication for the earthmoving, mining & civil construction industries. It is good to see the talent of a young(ish) guy. His wife does the filming. Their Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Homeless, appears in most of the videos and has his own worldwide fan following, receiving dog toys from fans all over the world. There is usually a bloopers reel at the end.

This repair of the A-frame from a CAT 745 articulated truck is one of the first videos I watched.

The only negative is he is an Aussie  :lol_hitting:

One for jabberwoki, our local with a large machinery sickness large machinery aficionado...

This might just be the biggest metal shaper on YouTube. They are getting their big Klopp 1000H Shaper out of storage and moved into the workshop. Kurtis gives a full walkaround tour of the Klopp shaper, plus do some test cuts on a big chunk of high tensile plate and make some heavy and big chips. This is hydraulic shaper, something I've not seen before.

Been a fan for many years and have a great deal of respect for that young man and his lovely wife. It can't be easy running that large of a shop with just the two of them -- well, not counting "Homeless" their canine safety officer. He's a relatively young man, but has talent and experience, and knows the industry inside and out. Great people.
