Yeah I was going to repaint my shop late last year , they nearly had to call 911 after telling me the price. I'm going to wait a while.

It's everything, bro! Everywhere I go, prices are thru the roof. I need to repaint my roof white this spring, probably gonna need a respirator after I hear the price.

After 150 years on top it seems the king of claw hammers will likely be shutting it's doors soon, and to me this is heartbreaking news.
I own probably 20 V&B hammers & hatchets, and more punches cold chisels & pry bars than I can count.
Along with Channellock and Chapman mfg they're one of my absolute favorite current tool manufacturers who's never let me down.

I think the stuff before the bar codes is pretty cool.
I wouldn't want to pay $10 per for some of those screwdrivers and slip joint pliers but hey, whatever floats his boat.

As far as the amount of coin and whether it was worth it can be swung by perspective. Many spend inordinately on all kinds of things I wouldn't. And as for the "worth" with inflation this can be thought of as a bargain to hold some value as the fed just prints like a drunken sailor. I'll stop there as this isn't the political section, just sayin those tools are definitely value holders for the right person.

Reminds of the gas station I worked at in college.  Mounting the tires was easy.  Getting them to inflate was often a chore.  Tire changer did not have an inflation ring

Used to have these big O rings you would soap up and put between tire bead and rim, they would pop out when you put the air to the tire. Didn't always work but helped sometimes. Using  Coates 10-10 machines way back.

Gallon of single stage PPG shop line urethane with reducer and hardener in 67 Ford Wimbolden White was 465 bucks at local auto paint store.

If you do facebook, follow the Sherwin Williams store in your area. They have sales and thats when I go buy my paint. Last summer I got Duration at 40% off. Still damned expensive but better than full price.
