Just checking if anyone has done this and how did it turn out?
Re-fencing the back yard for the new puppy.
Have old gates that are framed in standard zinc.

Are the posts used and corroded from being in the ground? If they are I would get new ones unless this is a temporary fence. Like TR said you can use galv spray paint.

Wipe with an acid prep to clean the zinc off. Some folks get by with vinegar. prime and paint.

Agreed with the above tips.
My dad used to use vinegar to "prep" sheet metal for soldering - as solder won't stick to zinc - and I've used various 95% pure zinc aerosols to protect evap cooler pans and exposed ductwork.

Not sure why I need to get the information now.
Won't be able to paint for months.
My boy helped me set posts.
I'll give it a couple days before stretching the chain link.
