Daddy wants new shoes

I Had Thorogoods last year, my first slip ons and was happy although they tend to get a little loose fitting as the day progresses.
They would shrink right up snug after a turn on the home made boot dryer though.
Im thinking about giving these a go this year.
Is the need enough? Or does the want suffice?

The laces look like they run through eyes instead of “ears” like most lace up boots.

Makes them a no go in my book.

Well the bottom ones do but the top ones have the ears for easy on / off.

I call those ears speed hooks. My Sketchers work boots have the speed hooks and they do make for faster lacing but I think the all eyelets gives a better more even tension and the hooks can get caught on stuff. Still I tend to buy the speed hook versions.

Jafe, do the Sketchers have a cushy insole.  Bought a pair of their sneakers and really like the feel of the insole

I like my Redwings with the fiberglass toe instead of steel. Rated the same but much lighter and more comfortable.

Yes they do are quite comfortable. This pair has a steel toe and is the short 6" ankle. I actually got them on the recommendation of Boredmechanic/Tactucalfun. They were pretty reasonable at around 140 although I don't expect them to last as the ones they replaced.

Are the fiberglass toe any warmer than a steel toe up here in the Northern cold winter ?

I can't tell whether they're ears/hooks or loops from the picture. Have you seen a pair in person?

I wear safety toes that are not metal and notice no difference from non safety toe shoes

I don't even notice them in our Western cold winter. No sharp edge is great.

Redwing sold their soul to asia . I`ll not do business with them.
