Removable vise/grinder mounting from bench
« on: August 25, 2022, 11:58:44 PM »
With the new cabinets getting painted soon, I'm thinking about redoing the bench too.  The bench vise and bench grinder aren't always used, and sometimes get in the way. I'm contemplating bolting a pair of 2" hitch recievers to the underside of the bench, and making long removable mounts to bolt the vise and grinder to.

Thoughts?   I only have a 12x24 shop.

I saw a deal where the bench had a wood worki g vise on the front corner and the grinder was mounted on a piece of plywood that had a strip of wood that was clamped in that vise. That would keep it still for use and make it removable. And you get a wood working vise
I'll look for a pic

That's an Idea.    I could then just make the Chas. Parker an outdoor vise on a heavy stand....  Hmmmmm
