How far did you have to connect the e-brake cable toward the front of the truck?  My truck needs one, but I don't want to replace one through the floor pan of the cab.

Actual swap probably an hour and a half drop to final tighten.  I had help getting it back over the springs.   Then changing thr E brake cable to the good one required mixing up some parts.    And s wheel cyl started leaking just as I hoped to finish the first side.    Tomorrow for the finish.  Adusting and bleeding to go after it is assembled.

Feels weird.  In the diesel shop I am the automotive expert.

Under the cab drivers side  there is a coupler.  Push out the spring clip and push the cable end to the center.  If in the rust belt grab two big pliers and wreck the metal clip.  Replace it with new.  This is a GMC Sonoma but even Ford Rangers have a very similar system.  The cable from pedal to under cab stays intact.

Its at the rear axle ends the fun begins.

Just got back from dinner at the steakhouse at the local casino. The president of the company the wife works for treated 7 of us to dinner. He and the plant manager of the home shop were out here all week to announce some changes. The wife is now in charge of the plant as the plant manager is returning to the home shop after 17 years to be close to his parents and family. The ribeye was fantastic. ;D

Prepped the left side of a backhoe tractor to get the lift arm lower hydraulic pin fixed.  The welds cracked where it mounts the frame.  When reassembled new pin and bushings with a solid mount.      5 hours to going home!

Those old pins make great hammers.

I could get dozens and don't need any more hammers.  I actually got rid of most of the pile of hammers.

I made really good progress on the shoppette.  Lots of wet paint in there when this pic was taken.

First project: turn one outlet into four.
Mostly for the phone charger and the over bench light.

I just used crap left over from home repairs to do this one.

Just got home from a quick trip to Denver and back.  600 miles back to the Omaha area.  Got a  rental Impala,  set the cruise a touch over the 75 speed limit, and got blown off the road by half the traffic.  Was doing 82 for awhile.  Saw a bunch of hot rods,  seems there was a flathead  engine, hillclimb somewhere in Denver.  With summer winding down,  there were dozens of boats being towed.   One really caught my eye,  a large, ( very large)  sailboat,  home port > Kona Hawaii!   Was being trailered east bound on I-80, bet there is a story there.  This had to be at least 40-50 ft, with a beam of 12-13 ft.

Back to regular programmed life in my proper job.  Cement floor instead of oily mud.  But no solid roof.  Lol!

Feels good.  Funny how an utter transplant from a completely different place can be at home in more than five little parts of this city.  The neighbors all know me and it seens like when Norm walked into Cheers.    Everything was just right.

I made when for the front gate.

It's crude and ugly, but it works.............. mostly.
It rolls closed much better than open for some reason.
