Is my vise a Wilton?
« on: March 02, 2020, 08:41:29 PM »
Got a vise yesterday that looks a lot like a Wilton

but the label is missing and I know there a lot of Asian clones out there

anyway to be sure?

Thanks

I'd say no, but I can't tell you why.

I'd also say no. The casting is rough, and some of the lines don't give me a Wilton feeling.

But, shoot, if it's usable then who cares?

Check the thread sizing on the swivel clamp bolt.

Metric?

Has the lot number in the same place as well as that [N] and the single digits number next to it that I see on older used examples, so o say yes it is a Wilton.
Maybe they're just on the budget side for a Wilton ?

I'm saying yes it's a Wilton. This is a cheaper Wilton. I've had a few of these. Not all Wilton's are pretty.

I can go with that. I'm not pretty, and would like people to accept me!  :hee20hee20hee:

I am leaning towards feeling strongly both ways.

That's more confirmation right there.

Definitely a Wilton.
